The Mahamudra Buddhist Hermitage is a master plan for a 131 acre campus of religious and dormitory buildings set on a peaceful hilltop in the lower Catskill Mountains. After termination of the initial contractor, BCI was engaged, through a competitive process, to take over the project utilizing a Construction Management-at-Risk contract. Prior to the re-start of construction, which was about 15% complete, BCI led a value-engineering driven re-design which resulted in a GMP approximately 20% lower than the previous GMP. The project entails construction of four structures for the congregation and features a high-performance design and elevated quality treatment of fit and finishes.
